Bremsstrahlung

Bremsstrahlung is a form of electromagnetic radiation that is emitted when an electron is accelerated or decelerated. The fraction of the electron energy that is converted into bremsstrahlung energy (Erem) depends on the electron energy (E) and the atomic number (Z) of the matter:

Erem / E ≈ Z × E / 800
