Dose conversion coefficient

The quantity dose conversion coefficient e(50) (in Sv·Bq-1) makes it possible to convert becquerel (Bq) to sievert (Sv) in the case of irradiation by internal activity:

E(50) = e(50) × A

Here, E(50 is the committed effective dose (in Sv) due to the intake of activity A (in Bq).

The value of the dose conversion coefficient strongly depends on the nuclide, the chemical properties of the radioactive substance, and the method of intake.
