Frequency

The frequency (commonly denoted by the Greek letter ν) is the number of occurrences of a repeating (periodic) event, also called wave, per unit of time (t). The corresponding unit is the hertz (Hz). Electromagnetic radiation is an example of such a periodic event. For this:

wavelength (λ) × frequency (ν) = speed of light (c)
